Spring hinges offer several options when making the hanging choice for your door/doors. Double action hinges provide the option of allowing your doors to swing in either direction, while single action hinges are limited to one directional swing.

These are heavier duty Double Acting Floor Spring Hinges that attaches to the bottom of your door. A restaurant style door is usually prepped with double-acting floor spring hinges. Our available floor hinge models are mortised into the bottom of the door, with ball bearings carrying the weight of the door and absorbing the spring thrust. These hinges also provide a mechanism to hold the door open at a ninety degree angle, inward and outward. The coil spring is specially oil tempered, with a great resilience and power, and the screw holes in the floor plate serve for proper door alignment. Our ball bearing type of double-acting floor spring hinge is available in Polished Brass and Satin Nickel. At Designer Doors all of our door sizes are within the allotted maximum weight limit for these hinge types.

Double action hinges provide the option of allowing your door(s) to swing in either direction. Double Action Spring Hinges are usually used on Café door(s). Most often manufactured in either a 36" or 42" height, these doors are modeled after saloon doors, the type usually associated with the old west. Our Double Action Café door hinges are available in two sizes, 5" for use with a 1 3/8" thick door or 6" for use with a 1 ¾" thick door. These are available in a Black, Gold or Silver finish.
